Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Mine Maintenance Superintendent for our client’s operations near Upington, Northern Cape. You will lead a team of technicians, engineers, and supervisors to oversee all maintenance activities for heavy mining equipment and fixed plant, implementing preventative and predictive programs to maximize uptime and reliability.

The role requires a National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and at least eight years in maintenance management

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of maintenance management experience in mining or heavy industry.
• Proven leadership and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs for mining equipment and plant.
• Supervise maintenance technicians, supervisors, and engineers.
• Ensure safe, efficient execution of all maintenance activities including repairs.
• Manage spare parts and consumables inventory for availability and cost control.
• Oversee the maintenance budget and identify efficiency improvements.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations in maintenance operations.
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and improvements.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering to minimize downtime and optimize production.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
