Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Mining Operations Manager to oversee a key mine site near Cape Town. You will lead all mining activities from extraction to processing, ensuring safety, productivity, and environmental compliance while managing a large workforce.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mining or related field, 10+ years in mining with 5+ in leadership, and strong knowledge of mining methods, equipment, and SA regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Mining Engineering or related field with advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years in mining operations, 5+ in a management role.
• Proven track record in large-scale mining and diverse teams.
• Strong knowledge of mining methods, equipment, and SA regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with production planning and optimization software.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage day-to-day mining operations (drilling, blasting, hauling, processing).
• Develop and implement strategies to maximize ore extraction and reduce costs while upholding safety standards.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Manage budgets, monitor performance metrics, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of mining professionals and staff.
• Oversee maintenance and optimal use of mining equipment and infrastructure.
