Placements24 in Rustenburg is seeking an experienced Mining Engineer to drive mine planning, design, and safety at our client's operations. You will collaborate with geologists, surveyors, and operations teams to optimize production while ensuring economical and environmentally responsible practices.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mining Engineering, at least 7 years of progressive experience in mine planning, and strong knowledge of rock mechanics and ventilation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in mine planning and operations
• Proven ability to manage complex mining projects from conception to completion
• Strong knowledge of rock mechanics, geotechnical engineering, and mine ventilation
• Familiarity with Surpac, Datamine, and Deswik

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed mine plans, including production schedules and operational sequences
• Design and oversee the construction of mine infrastructure, such as shafts, drifts, and ventilation systems
• Manage and optimize drilling, blasting, and material handling operations
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the mining sector
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for new mining projects and expansions
• Supervise a team of mining personnel, providing technical guidance and mentorship
