Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA.
• 7+ years of MEP design and project management for high-rise buildings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Trace 700 and Dialux.
• Knowledge of SANS codes and international standards for MEP.
• Energy efficiency and sustainable design experience.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent engineering consultancy, is seeking a seasoned Senior Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Engineer to bolster their team in Pretoria . This role is crucial for the successful design and implementation of MEP systems within prestigious high-rise building projects. You will be responsible for leading the design, coordination, and execution of all MEP aspects, ensuring optimal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with stringent building standards. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems for high-rise commercial and residential buildings.
• Conduct detailed load calculations, system sizing, and energy analysis for HVAC, power distribution, lighting, and water systems.
• Prepare comprehensive MEP design drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Coordinate MEP designs with architectural, structural, and other building services to ensure seamless integration.
• Oversee MEP installations on-site, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
• Conduct site inspections, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical solutions during the construction phase.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and as-built drawings.
• Mentor and guide junior MEP engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is essential.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience specifically in MEP design and project management for high-rise buildings.
• Proficiency in MEP design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and relevant simulation tools (e.g., Trace 700, Dialux).
• In-depth knowledge of SANS building codes and relevant international standards for MEP systems.
• Strong understanding of energy efficiency principles and sustainable building design.
