Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
• Professional registration with ECSA or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years in building services engineering, focusing on MEP design.

About the Role

Our client, a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with a strong focus on sustainable building solutions, is seeking a Senior Building Services Engineer to join their team in Upington, Northern Cape . This role will lead the design, specification, and integration of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems within a variety of building projects, ensuring optimal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with all relevant standards. You will be instrumental in providing expert technical guidance and managing project teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) or equivalent.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in building services engineering, with a focus on MEP design.
• Proven experience in managing building services projects from design through to completion.
• In‑depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, lighting, water supply, and drainage systems.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, relevant simulation tools).
• Strong understanding of South African building regulations and energy efficiency standards.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with sustainable design principles and green building technologies is highly desirable.
