Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Pr.Eng registration with ECSA is essential.
• Minimum 9 years of experience in MEP design and project management.
• Experience on projects in Limpopo or similar regions is valued.
• Proficiency in MEP design software such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, DIALux.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, specification, and project management of MEP systems for diverse building projects.

About the Role

Our client, a leading building services consultancy, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Engineer to join their growing team in Polokwane . This role is central to the design and implementation of complex MEP systems for a variety of prestigious projects, including commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions. You will be responsible for leading the MEP design process, managing project delivery, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring that all systems meet the highest standards of performance, efficiency, and compliance within the Limpopo province. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, specification, and project management of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems for diverse building projects in Polokwane .
• Develop detailed engineering designs, calculations, and drawings for HVAC, electrical power distribution, lighting, water supply, drainage, and fire protection systems.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, standards (e.g., SANS, SABS), and client requirements.
• Coordinate MEP design activities with architects, structural engineers, and other project stakeholders.
• Manage MEP project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring successful project delivery.
• Conduct site visits for inspection, progress monitoring, and to resolve any installation or commissioning issues.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and respond to contractor RFIs (Requests for Information).
• Mentor and guide junior MEP engineers and technicians, fostering their technical development and project contribution.
• Stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in MEP engineering and sustainable building design.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) registration with ECSA is essential.
• A minimum of 9 years of experience in MEP design and project management, with a strong portfolio of completed building projects. Experience with projects in Limpopo or similar regions is highly valued.
• Expertise in relevant MEP design software (e.g., Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, DIALux, etc.).
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical power systems, lighting design, plumbing, and drainage systems.
• Proven experience in managing project budgets and schedules effectively.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage client expectations.
