Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer to lead the design and implementation of HVAC systems in Polokwane. You will oversee load calculations, equipment selection, and coordination with architects and contractors to deliver efficient climate control across projects.

The role requires strong knowledge of energy modeling, thermodynamics, and building physics, with experience in HAP and Revit MEP. Pr Eng eligibility is highly desirable and professional development is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6+ years of HVAC design experience.
• Pr Eng registration or eligibility preferred.
• Proficient with HVAC design software and energy tools.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer to lead the design and implementation of advanced heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in Polokwane . This role requires a deep understanding of HVAC principles, energy efficiency, and building services engineering to deliver optimal climate control solutions for various projects. You will be responsible for system design, specification, calculations, and coordinating with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines. This is a key position contributing to sustainable building design and comfort in Limpopo.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and specify HVAC systems, including load calculations, ductwork design, and equipment selection.
• Develop detailed HVAC plans , schematics, and specifications for building projects.
• Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, standards, and energy efficiency regulations.
• Conduct energy modeling and analysis to optimize system performance and reduce operational costs.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform site visits for installation verification and commissioning of HVAC systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in HVAC design and engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration or eligibility is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., HAP, Revit MEP) and energy simulation tools.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and building physics.
• Excellent project coordination and communication skills.
