Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a power generation facility in Kimberley, Northern Cape. You will plan, execute, and oversee mechanical maintenance, focusing on preventative, predictive, and corrective programs to ensure reliability and safety.

The role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving abilities, and leadership to guide teams and contractors in a safe, efficient operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in power generation/heavy industrial sector.
• Strong understanding of rotating machinery, pumps, turbines, and other mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement mechanical maintenance strategies and schedules for plant equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical failures to minimize downtime.
• Oversee preventative and predictive maintenance tasks using diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely procurement of components.
• Supervise maintenance teams and contractors, ensuring safety and quality standards.
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify reliability and efficiency improvements.
