Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Maintenance Engineer specializing in Industrial Machinery to join our client in Mahikeng, North West. You will plan, execute, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure optimal uptime and reliability of plant equipment.

The role requires hands-on expertise in mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and CMMS software, with the ability to read engineering drawings and manage a team of technicians in a heavy industrial setting.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance engineering, preferably in a heavy industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
• Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software.
• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules for industrial machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime.
• Plan and oversee corrective maintenance activities, ensuring timely and effective repairs.
• Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
• Supervise and mentor maintenance technicians, providing technical guidance and support.
