Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Manufacturing Support) to strengthen our client’s Vereeniging-based manufacturing team. You will troubleshoot complex mechanical issues on the factory floor, implement preventative maintenance, and collaborate on equipment design and modification to improve uptime and quality.

The ideal candidate has a Mechanical Eng degree, 6+ years in manufacturing engineering, and hands-on experience with automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, and CAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 6+ years in a manufacturing engineering environment focusing on mechanical systems support.
• Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, automation and control systems.
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical failures in hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Experience with CAD for modifications and design improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert mechanical support for manufacturing production lines.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical failures promptly.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs.
• Collaborate on design, modification and installation of equipment and tooling.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and safety.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and root causes.
