Job summary

Placements24 seeks a seasoned Senior Operations Engineer to elevate Klerksdorp's manufacturing capabilities. You will lead design, implementation and continuous improvement of production systems, drive Lean initiatives, and mentor junior staff while ensuring safety and quality compliance.

The role requires a Master’s in Industrial Engineering, 6–8 years in industrial engineering, and strong Lean/Six Sigma, ERP, and data analysis skills to optimize throughput and costs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 6–8 years in industrial/operations engineering within manufacturing.
• Lean and Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt preferred) and process optimization.
• Experience with project management, budgeting, and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with ERP and data analysis tools; strong leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and systems.
• Analyze production data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction.
• Develop and implement Lean Manufacturing strategies including value stream mapping, 5S, and Kaizen events.
• Manage capital projects related to equipment upgrades, process automation, and facility layout changes.
• Mentor and guide junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards across operations.
