Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for their Vereeniging facility. The role centers on planning, executing, and supervising preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance of complex machinery and production equipment.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in pneumatics, hydraulics, and rotating equipment, along with leadership experience and a commitment to safety in a busy industrial environment.
Qualifications
- Diploma or BEng in Mechanical Engineering is required.
- Minimum 4 years in mechanical maintenance in an industrial plant.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance schedules.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical failures to minimize downtime.
- Maintain and inspect pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and hydraulics.
- Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components.
- Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors, ensuring work quality.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and improvements.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment history.
- Coordinate with production to minimize disruption.
