Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our client in Polokwane to design, install, maintain and optimize mechanical systems across the facility.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 7+ years in industrial plant operations, experience with rotating equipment, pressure vessels and piping, and strong project leadership.

You will lead safety-compliant projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to reliability improvements with CAD and simulation tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of industrial plant experience.
• Experience with rotating equipment, pressure vessels, and piping.
• Proficient in AutoCAD/SolidWorks and simulation tools.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
• Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and supervise installation of mechanical equipment.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Conduct root cause analysis of mechanical failures.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Lead mechanical engineering projects including scope, budget, and schedule.
