Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer in Polokwane, Limpopo, to optimize existing processes and develop new ones for improved efficiency, quality, and cost control.

The role requires a Mechanical/Industrial Engineering degree and 5+ years in manufacturing process engineering, with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen and CAD proficiency. Hybrid work with on-site and remote elements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing process engineering, preferably heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of machining, welding, fabrication, assembly and finishing processes.
• Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt a plus) and Kaizen.
• Proficiency with CAD for process layout and tooling design.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience with SPC and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize existing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, throughput, and yield.
• Develop and implement new manufacturing processes and production techniques for new and existing products.
• Identify and troubleshoot production issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and work instructions for manufacturing processes.
• Evaluate and recommend new manufacturing equipment and technologies to enhance capabilities.
• Collaborate with R&D and design teams to ensure manufacturability (DFM).
• Monitor KPIs for manufacturing processes and report on performance.
• Train production staff on new processes, equipment, and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
