Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Operations Manager focused on Logistics & Distribution to lead our Upington team. You will optimize inbound and outbound logistics, warehouse operations, and inventory control to ensure timely, cost-efficient deliveries.

The role requires extensive logistics management experience and strong leadership to drive a high-volume operation and continuous improvement across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field.
• 7+ years in operations management with logistics and distribution focus.
• Experience in large-scale warehouse operations and transportation networks.
• In-depth inventory management knowledge and systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize logistics and distribution operations including warehousing, inventory, and transportation.
• Develop strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and speed deliveries.
• Oversee warehouse operations with space utilization, inventory handling, and safety compliance.
• Manage relationships with 3PL providers and carriers, negotiate contracts, monitor performance.
• Implement robust inventory control systems to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
• Lead and develop a team of logistics and warehouse staff for performance and improvement.
