Placements24 is seeking an experienced Operations Manager with a logistics focus to oversee Soweto-based supply chain activities. You will manage transportation, warehousing, and inventory, and drive cost-efficient delivery while maintaining service levels.

Lead a logistics team, implement process improvements, and collaborate with suppliers and internal departments to optimize performance and safety standards across the network.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Logistics Operations Management or a similar role within the supply chain.
• Proven ability to manage complex logistics networks and optimize transportation routes.
• Strong understanding of warehousing, inventory control, and supply chain best practices.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in logistics management software and systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize all logistics and supply chain operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve delivery efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
• Lead and mentor the logistics team, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety standards.
• Oversee inventory control, ensuring accuracy and minimizing stockouts or excess inventory.
• Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
• Monitor logistics performance metrics and implement corrective actions to address deviations.
