Placements24 is seeking an experienced Operations Manager specializing in logistics to lead our Bloemfontein based team. You will oversee transportation, warehousing, and inventory, driving efficiency and cost-effective solutions across the distribution network.

The role requires strong leadership, carrier negotiations, and hands-on process improvements, with a focus on safety, compliance, and service excellence in the South Africa region.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in logistics or operations management with a logistics focus.
• Experience managing transportation, warehousing and inventory operations.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management experience.
• Solid understanding of supply chain principles and best practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, SCM, BA or related field.
• Proficiency with logistics software and systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all logistics and transportation operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Develop and implement efficient warehousing and inventory management strategies.
• Negotiate with carriers and suppliers to secure favorable rates and service agreements.
• Monitor logistics performance using key metrics and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
