Placements24 seeks an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the distribution center in Upington, driving warehouse and logistics performance with a focus on safety and productivity.

You will lead a team, implement improvements, optimize layout and workflows, manage inventory accuracy, and collaborate with procurement, sales and transportation to ensure seamless supply chain operations. FMCG distribution experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in SCM, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in warehouse and distribution operations management, FMCG focus.
• Proven track record of operational improvements and efficiency gains.
• Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in WMS and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and shipping of FMCG products.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse layout, workflows, and resource allocation for maximum efficiency.
• Manage inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and minimizing stockouts and obsolescence.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the distribution center.
• Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse staff to achieve performance targets.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales, and transportation teams to ensure seamless supply chain flow.
• Implement and utilize technology and systems to enhance operational visibility and control.
