Placements24 seeks an experienced Senior Litigation Attorney for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will manage complex litigation from inception to resolution, leveraging extensive legal knowledge and strategic acumen to advocate for clients.

The role requires adjudication at the High Court level with strong drafting, research, and negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setup while maintaining client service excellence.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court with 8+ years of post-qualification experience in litigation.
• Experience in commercial or civil litigation, with motion practice and trial exposure.
• Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills; remote-work capable.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of litigation from pleadings to trial preparation.
• Conduct legal research and develop persuasive legal arguments.
• Represent clients in court, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Draft statements of claim, defenses, affidavits, and settlements.
• Interview clients and witnesses for evidence and testimony.
• Negotiate settlements and advise on risks and strategy.
• Coordinate with opposing counsel, courts, and regulatory bodies.
• Mentor junior staff and stay updated on changes in law.
