Placements24 is seeking a Senior IT Helpdesk Technician in Pretoria to provide advanced end-user support for hardware, software and network issues. You will escalate complex problems, maintain IT infrastructure, and help develop IT policies.

The role requires strong Windows and Active Directory experience, VPN knowledge, and leadership potential to mentor junior staff. A stable, growing financial services environment offers growth opportunities in Gauteng.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT/CS or related field or equivalent experience.
CompTIA A+/Network+ and MCSA certifications desirable.
Strong Windows OS, Office Suite and Active Directory knowledge.
Experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN.
Experience mentoring junior staff is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Provide advanced technical support to end-users for complex hardware, software, and network issues.
Escalate unresolved issues to IT teams or vendors as needed.
Install, configure, and maintain workstations, printers, and peripherals.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access in Active Directory and related systems.
Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and security patches.
Develop and maintain IT documentation including knowledge bases and guides.
Mentor junior IT helpdesk technicians and provide training.
Assist in deployment and management of new IT hardware and software.
Monitor system performance and address potential issues proactively.
Ensure adherence to IT policies and security standards.
