Placements24 is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor for a well-established financial institution in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. The role focuses on evaluating risk management, controls, and governance processes across the organization, with on-site engagement in our modern Port Elizabeth offices.

The ideal candidate has a solid auditing background, strong attention to detail, and the ability to clearly communicate findings to management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CIA/CA(SA)/CISA desirable.
• Minimum 4 years in internal audit, external audit, or related control function.
• Strong understanding of auditing methodologies, risk assessment, and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
• Proficiency in data analysis techniques and audit software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple audit engagements.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute internal audits per annual plan and professional standards.
• Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
• Identify control deficiencies and provide practical, value-added recommendations for remediation.
• Prepare clear, concise, and accurate audit reports for management and the Audit Committee.
• Conduct follow-up audits to ensure timely and effective implementation of management's action plans.
• Perform special investigations as requested by management or the Audit Committee.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with auditees across the organization.
• Stay current with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging risks.
• Assist in the risk assessment process to inform the development of the annual audit plan.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior audit staff.
