Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in internal or external audit, preferably within financial services.
• Strong knowledge of auditing standards, risk assessment methodologies, and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
• Familiarity with relevant financial services regulations (e.g., FSCA, SARB).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in using audit management software and data analysis tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct comprehensive internal audits in accordance with the annual audit plan.
• Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management systems, and governance processes.
• Identify control weaknesses, operational inefficiencies, and instances of non-compliance.
• Develop practical and cost-effective recommendations for improving internal controls and business processes.
• Prepare clear, concise, and well-supported audit reports for management and the audit committee.
• Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure timely closure.
• Engage with stakeholders at various levels to understand business operations and risks.
• Stay updated on relevant industry standards, best practices, and regulatory changes affecting internal audit.
• Assist external auditors as required.
• Mentor and guide junior audit staff as needed.
