Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Internal Auditor for our client in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on planning and executing internal audits to evaluate controls, risk management, and governance frameworks within a financial services context.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with CIA, CA(SA), or CISA as advantageous, and 4–6 years of audit experience. Strong analytical and reporting skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CIA, CA(SA), or CISA are highly advantageous.
• 4–6 years of auditing experience in internal or external auditing.
• Strong knowledge of internal audit methodologies, risk assessment and COSO.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute internal audit assignments across various departments and business units.
• Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and governance structures.
• Identify potential areas of non-compliance, fraud, or operational inefficiencies.
• Document audit findings and develop practical recommendations for management.
• Prepare clear and concise audit reports for senior management and the audit committee.
• Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations.
• Stay up-to-date with internal auditing standards, best practices, and regulatory changes.
• Conduct special investigations as required.
