Placements24 in Randburg is seeking a Senior Instrumentation Technician to drive the measurement, control, and monitoring of industrial processes in the energy sector. The role involves installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of complex instrumentation and control systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.

The ideal candidate will hold a National Diploma or equivalent, have 7+ years of relevant experience, and be proficient with sensors, transmitters, valves, PLCs, and DCS.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or relevant trade qualification in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician in an industrial or energy-related setting.
• Proficiency with various types of instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level measurement devices.
• Experience with control systems, PLCs, and DCS is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of calibration procedures and hazardous area classifications.
• Excellent diagnostic, problem-solving, and manual dexterity skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, calibrate, and repair a wide range of industrial instrumentation, including transmitters, sensors, valves, and controllers.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in instrumentation and control systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability and accuracy of measurement and control devices.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals to perform duties effectively.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• Provide guidance and technical support to junior technicians and assist in training programs.
