About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Instrumentation and Control Engineer to enhance their operations in Mossel Bay . This position is vital for ensuring the precise calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of sophisticated instrumentation and control systems within industrial facilities. You will play a key role in maintaining operational efficiency and safety by ensuring all measurement and control devices function optimally. This role requires a hands-on approach and offers the chance to work with advanced process control technologies in a stable, on-site industrial setting, contributing to critical infrastructure reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and maintain a wide range of industrial instruments (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow, level sensors).
• Develop, implement, and troubleshoot control strategies using PLCs and DCS systems.
• Perform routine diagnostics and predictive maintenance on control system hardware and software.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards for all instrumentation and control activities.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to resolve process control issues promptly.
• Document all work, including calibration records, maintenance logs, and system modifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering , Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in instrumentation and control systems , preferably in an industrial environment.
• Proficiency with various PLC, DCS, and HMI platforms.
• Strong knowledge of process control loops, calibration techniques, and safety instrumented systems (SIS).
• Experience with field instrumentation and communication protocols (e.g., HART, Foundation Fieldbus).
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently on-site.
