Placements24, a dynamic corporate training provider based in Klerksdorp, is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer to lead design and development of engaging learning experiences across industries. You will translate complex information into accessible training materials, including e-learning modules, workshops, and blended solutions, collaborating with SMEs from concept to delivery.

The role combines in-office collaboration in North West with a flexible hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, or a related field.
• Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional design and e-learning development.
• Proven experience designing and developing various types of learning materials, including instructor-led, virtual, and e-learning.
• Proficiency with authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline/Rise, Adobe Captivate, or similar.
• Strong understanding of adult learning theories, instructional design principles, and evaluation methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Experience collaborating with Subject Matter Experts and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage projects effectively and work independently as well as part of a team.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is desirable.
• Based in or able to commute to Klerksdorp for required in-office collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop engaging and effective learning solutions, including e-learning courses, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, and performance support tools.
• Collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather content, validate accuracy, and ensure alignment with learning objectives.
• Apply adult learning principles and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to create impactful training programs.
• Utilize authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and multimedia software to develop interactive and visually appealing learning content.
• Develop assessments and evaluation strategies to measure learning effectiveness and impact.
• Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior instructional designers and contribute to team best practices.
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in instructional design and e-learning.
• Conduct needs analyses to identify learning gaps and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Review and revise existing training materials to ensure they remain relevant and effective.
