Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Instructional Designer to create engaging e-learning experiences from the ground up. You will design, develop, and evaluate courses across platforms, applying ADDIE, SAM, and other instructional design models to maximize learning outcomes.

You will work from anywhere in South Africa, collaborating with SMEs to translate complex content into accessible learning formats, develop assessments, and produce multimedia assets while ensuring accessibility and brand

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education Technology, E-Learning, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional design and e-learning development.
• Proficiency with industry-standard authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate).
• Strong understanding of adult learning theories, instructional design principles, and curriculum development.
• Experience in creating multimedia content (graphics, video editing, audio production).
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage timelines and deliverables in a remote setting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual team environment.
• Portfolio showcasing previous e-learning design work is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop engaging e-learning courses, modules, and training materials using various authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate).
• Apply adult learning principles and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to create effective learning solutions.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather content, ensure accuracy, and translate complex information into accessible learning formats.
• Develop assessment strategies, quizzes, and interactive activities to measure learning outcomes.
• Create multimedia assets, including graphics, animations, videos, and audio recordings, to enhance learning experiences.
• Ensure all learning content is accessible, user-friendly, and aligns with brand and quality standards.
• Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project scope.
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in e-learning and instructional design.
• Provide feedback and guidance on learning design best practices to team members and stakeholders.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of e-learning programs and recommend improvements.
