Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Instructional Designer to partner with faculty at a Benoni-based university to translate traditional courses into engaging online formats. The role blends on-campus collaboration with remote work flexibility in a hybrid setting.

You will design online and blended courses, apply adult learning theories, develop multimedia content, and implement assessment strategies using Moodle, Blackboard, or Canvas. A portfolio is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum Development, or related field.
• Proven experience in higher education instructional design.
• Strong understanding of learning theories and e-learning best practices.
• Proficiency with major LMS platforms (Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas).
• Experience with e-learning authoring tools and multimedia software.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with faculty to design, develop, and revise online and blended courses.
• Apply adult learning theories and instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM).
• Develop engaging multimedia content including videos and interactive simulations.
• Create assessment strategies aligned with learning objectives.
• Utilize LMS platforms to build and manage course content.
• Provide training and support to faculty on instructional design best practices.
