Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager for major Richards Bay infrastructure projects in KwaZulu-Natal. You will oversee all project phases from planning to handover, manage budgets, schedules, site operations, and ensure top safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree with 8+ years in industrial/infrastructure PM, and strong skills in Primavera P6 and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in construction project management.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale projects from inception to completion.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Expertise in project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and contract management.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Experience in Richards Bay and KwaZulu-Natal region is essential.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed project plans including scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation.
• Oversee daily site operations, ensuring compliance with construction plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Manage subcontractor performance, ensuring timely and quality delivery of work.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings with clients, consultants, and site teams.
• Control project costs by monitoring expenditures, managing variations, and approving invoices.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing effective solutions.
• Ensure all projects meet the required quality standards and regulatory compliance.
• Liaise with stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and internal management, providing regular project updates.
• Lead and motivate site teams, fostering a culture of safety and performance excellence.
