Placements24 is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to oversee critical port infrastructure projects in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will lead planning, execution, and delivery, coordinating contractors and stakeholders to ensure safety, quality, and on-time performance.

The role requires a Civil/Construction background with 10–12 years in large-scale port or marine works, familiarity with dredging and quay construction, and professional registration is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 10–12 years' progressive experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in port or marine projects.
• Experience in dredging, quay construction, and breakwaters.
• Knowledge of marine construction methods, materials, and risks.
• Professional registration (e.g., Pr.Eng, Pr.CM) is advantageous.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Willingness to work full-time on-site in Richards Bay.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall construction management of port infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
• Develop and implement project execution plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Coordinate all site activities, including subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labor.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations specific to port operations.
• Oversee procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage project risks, issues, and changes to minimize disruptions and financial impact.
• Conduct regular site inspections, performance reviews, and quality control assessments.
• Foster relationships with port authorities, government agencies, and stakeholders.
• Prepare progress reports, financial updates, and project documentation.
• Lead and mentor the project site team, promoting excellence and safety.
