Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee critical port infrastructure upgrades at Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Ideal candidates bring a minimum of 10 years in project management with at least 6 years in maritime port infrastructure, strong stakeholder negotiation skills, and proficiency in Primavera P6 or MS Project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; professional engineering registration preferred.
• Experience of 10+ years in project management with 6+ years in maritime/port or large-scale logistics infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of maritime operations, regulatory frameworks, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage lifecycle of maritime and logistics infrastructure projects from feasibility to commissioning.
• Develop detailed project plans including scope, budgets, resources, and risk assessment.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, contractors, and site personnel with effective collaboration.
• Oversee procurement, contracts, and vendor performance for project-related services.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental regulations and port standards.
• Manage stakeholder relationships with port authorities, government agencies, clients, and community.
• Monitor progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions for timely delivery.
• Prepare and present project status, financial updates, and risk analyses to senior management.
• Champion best practices in project management within maritime and logistics sector.
• Ensure quality control and assurance throughout all project phases.
