Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Project Engineer with a Mechanical Engineering background to lead full lifecycle engineering projects from handover through commissioning at mining and mineral processing sites.

The role requires 5+ years of experience in heavy industry and plant construction, strong MS Project proficiency, and exposure to SolidWorks/Inventor/AutoCAD Plant 3D, with willingness to travel to mine sites as required in South Africa.

Qualifications

• BEng or BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years' Project Engineering experience within mining, mineral processing, heavy industry or plant construction environments.
• Experience managing multiple engineering projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with MS Project.
• Exposure to 3D design software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle execution of engineering projects from handover through to commissioning.
• Coordinate activities between engineering, drafting, procurement, site teams, vendors, and clients.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, resources, and critical deliverables.
• Review engineering drawings, piping layouts, structural designs, and related documents.
