Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Sound Designer & Composer for their studio in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will craft immersive audio, create original scores, and perfect sound assets for multiple media projects while collaborating with directors and designers.

The role demands extensive sound design experience paired with a strong portfolio, proficiency in major DAWs, and a deep understanding of acoustics and Foley techniques. A degree in Music Production or related field is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrating sound design and original music composition.
• Experience in Arts & Entertainment industry.
• Proficiency with DAWs (Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live) and acoustics.

Responsibilities

• Design, record, and implement high-quality sound effects for games, films, or other media projects.
• Compose original music scores tailored to the mood and narrative of projects.
• Edit and mix audio assets to create a cohesive and polished final product.
• Collaborate with directors, game designers, and other team members to define the sonic vision.
• Manage audio asset libraries and ensure efficient organization and retrieval.
• Operate and maintain audio recording equipment and software.
• Provide creative input and technical solutions for audio challenges.
• Stay updated with advancements in audio technology and techniques.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any audio-related issues that arise during production.
