Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior HR Officer in George, Western Cape. You will oversee HR functions, advise line managers, and drive people strategies to support business objectives.

The role requires a hands-on, proactive HR professional with strong labour law knowledge and experience in talent management, development and reward strategies. You will partner with management to create a positive work environment and deliver exceptional HR services.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in HRM or related field.
• 5-7 years in a comprehensive HR role, 2 years in senior capacity.
• Strong knowledge of SA labour law (BCEA, LRA, EEA, SDA).
• Experience handling employee relations, conflict resolution and disciplinary processes.
• Experience in talent acquisition, performance management and reward strategies.
• Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities; excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert HR advice to management and staff.
• Lead and manage complex employee relations, hearings and grievances.
• Oversee development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
• Drive talent management, succession planning and career development.
• Manage performance appraisal processes and coaching.
• Ensure payroll and benefits processing is accurate and timely.
• Conduct HR audits to ensure legal compliance.
• Lead recruitment for senior roles and critical hires.
• Develop and deliver training programs to enhance capabilities.
• Contribute to HR metrics and strategic planning.
