Placements24 seeks a highly analytical Senior Hospitality Operations Analyst for a fully remote role within a rapidly expanding hospitality group in South Africa. You will collect, clean, and analyze data from PMS, POS, and CRM across multiple properties, build dashboards, and deliver KPI-driven insights to GMs and department heads.

You will identify trends, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate with IT and data teams to ensure data integrity.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in an analytical role, preferably within hospitality or related service industry.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques (Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
• Experience with PMS and POS systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding hospitality group with a diverse portfolio of properties across South Africa, is seeking a highly analytical Senior Hospitality Operations Analyst. This role is fully remote and focuses on leveraging data to drive operational efficiency and performance improvements across various hotel functions. The ideal candidate will be adept at collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex operational data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders. This position is crucial for optimizing performance and supporting strategic decision‑making within the group, particularly for properties located in and around Soweto, Gauteng , and other key South African areas. If you have a passion for data, a keen eye for detail, and a solid understanding of hospitality operations, this remote opportunity is for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and analyze operational data from various sources (PMS, POS, CRM, financial reports) across multiple properties.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to occupancy, revenue, guest satisfaction, and operational costs.
• Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in operational data to pinpoint areas for improvement.
• Provide data‑driven insights and actionable recommendations to General Managers and department heads to enhance efficiency and profitability.
• Conduct root cause analysis for operational challenges and propose data‑backed solutions.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new operational strategies and initiatives.
• Collaborate with IT and data management teams to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
• Stay updated on industry best practices in data analytics and hospitality operations.
• Present findings and recommendations to management in a clear and concise manner.
• Support operational reviews and strategic planning processes for properties in Gauteng and beyond.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in an analytical role, preferably within the hospitality or related service industry.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
• Experience with Property Management Systems (PMS) and Point of Sale (POS) systems is highly desirable.
• Excellent understanding of hospitality operations, including front office, F&B, and housekeeping.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
• Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Hospitality Management, Economics, or a related field.
• Familiarity with the South African hospitality market, including areas like Soweto , is an advantage.
