Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Senior Power Systems Analyst for an energy-sector client in Polokwane, Limpopo. The role is office-based, focusing on detailed modeling, reliability, and grid modernization to support planning and operations.

The candidate will hold a Master’s in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in power system studies and will use PSS/E, ETAP, and PowerWorld for analyses and reporting to management and regulators.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in Power Systems
• 5+ years of experience in power system analysis and operations
• Proficiency with power system simulation software (PSS/E, ETAP, PowerWorld)
• Strong numerical and data interpretation skills; excellent communication

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed power flow, short-circuit, and stability analyses for transmission and distribution.
• Develop and maintain accurate power system models using specialized software.
• Analyze system performance data to optimize operations and plan upgrades.
• Assess impact of new generation, load additions, and network changes on reliability.
• Develop protection coordination studies and relay settings.
• Contribute to long-term system planning and resource adequacy assessments.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for management and regulators.
• Stay updated on evolving power system technologies and regulatory requirements.
