Placements24 is actively seeking a Senior Grid Engineer for a Mahikeng-based role with hybrid work options. You will design, analyze, and optimize electrical grid infrastructure, addressing grid expansion, stability, and renewable integration.

You will lead challenging projects requiring deep power-systems knowledge, robust analytical skills, and strong collaboration with regulators and stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems specialization.
• 7+ years of experience in grid engineering and power system analysis.
• Proficient in grid simulation software (PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD).
• Strong knowledge of grid codes, protection schemes, and international standards.
• Excellent communication and project management skills; hybrid work experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and manage grid infrastructure upgrade projects.
• Perform power flow, short-circuit, and stability analyses.
• Develop strategies for renewable energy integration into the grid.
• Oversee implementation of new grid technologies and protection systems.
• Collaborate with regulators and stakeholders to ensure compliance and efficient operations.
