Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in Grid Integration to join our Soweto team. You will assess, plan, and implement grid connection projects, ensuring compliance with grid codes and standards, while contributing to the modernization of Gauteng’s energy infrastructure.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) and at least 5 years of experience in grid integration or power systems engineering, with proficiency in PSS/E,

Qualifications

• Experience in power system analysis and grid integration.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of renewable energy grid integration challenges.
• Familiarity with national and international grid codes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical studies and assessments for the integration of new generation facilities into the electrical grid.
• Develop grid interconnection designs, protection schemes, and operating procedures.
• Collaborate with project developers, grid operators, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution.
• Perform power system analysis, including load flow, short-circuit, and stability studies related to grid integration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to grid connection and power quality.
• Ensure all designs and implementations adhere to national and international grid codes and standards.
