Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in grid integration to lead interconnection projects in Mossel Bay. You will design grid connections, perform power system analyses, and collaborate with utilities and regulators to secure approvals.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in renewable energy grid integration, with proficiency in PSS/E or ETAP and at least 6 years of relevant experience. A hybrid work setup is offered along with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred.
Minimum 6 years in electrical engineering with a strong focus on power systems and grid integration.
In-depth knowledge of renewable energy technologies and their impact on grid stability.
Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP) and electrical design tools.
Excellent understanding of grid codes, standards, and utility interconnection requirements.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical design and engineering of grid interconnection solutions for renewable energy projects.
Perform power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis, to ensure grid compliance.
Collaborate with utility engineers and regulatory bodies to secure approvals for grid connections.
Develop technical specifications for electrical equipment, such as transformers, switchgear, and protection relays.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on the team.
