Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer for a fully remote position serving the Western Cape region and beyond. You will oversee complex geotechnical investigations, analyses, and foundation design while ensuring safety, stability, and cost-effectiveness.

The role requires a Master’s in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering with 8+ years of experience and proficiency in PLAXIS, GeoStudio, and FLAC. PR Eng is a plus; remote collaboration and strong reporting are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 8 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Proficiency with PLAXIS, GeoStudio and FLAC.
• PR Eng registration or eligibility is a plus.
• Strong report writing and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and interpret geotechnical investigations for projects.
• Perform analyses of soil/rock behavior, groundwater flow and slope stability.
• Design foundations (shallow and deep) and earth structures.
• Prepare geotechnical reports with findings and recommendations.
• Communicate technical information to clients and stakeholders.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with geotechnical codes and standards.
• Use advanced geotechnical software for modeling and simulation.
• Contribute to new techniques and methodologies.
• Manage project timelines and remote budgets.
