Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer with a Geotechnical specialization to join a fully remote team supporting projects across South Africa. You will assess ground conditions, design foundations, and ensure stability on major infrastructure developments from a home office.
The role requires a Master’s in Geotechnical Civil Engineering and 10+ years of field and design experience, with strong skills in Plaxis and GeoStudio.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering with geotechnical specialization.
- 10+ years of progressive geotechnical site investigations, analysis and design.
- Strong proficiency in geotechnical software for slope stability, settlement, and foundation analysis.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed geotechnical investigations, including site Characterization, soil/rock mechanics analysis, and foundation design.
- Develop and implement ground improvement strategies and slope stability assessments for complex projects.
- Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports with earthworks, foundations, and retaining structures recommendations.
- Utilize geotechnical software for modeling and analysis (Plaxis, GeoStudio).
- Provide remote technical support to project teams and clients.
- Stay updated with advancements in geotechnical engineering and apply them to projects.
