Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a fully remote team. Lead investigations, design foundations and earthworks, and perform advanced geotechnical analyses from anywhere in South Africa.

You will mentor junior engineers and manage project timelines and budgets, while ensuring compliance with SA codes and standards. The ideal candidate holds a Master's in Geotechnical Engineering with Pr Eng registration and 8+ years of relevant experience, skilled in Plaxis and

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or closely related field.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is required.
• 8+ years of geotechnical design and project execution experience.
• Proven experience delivering complex geotechnical projects.
• Proficiency in Plaxis, GeoStudio or similar software.
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics and SA standards.
• Excellent written and verbal remote reporting and client interaction.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects remotely.

Responsabilités

• Lead geotechnical site investigations (boreholes, CPTs, lab testing).
• Design shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, and earthworks.
• Perform slope stability and seismic site response analyses.
• Prepare geotechnical investigation reports and design recommendations.
• Collaborate with clients, structural engineers in a virtual setting.
• Mentor junior geotechnical engineers.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, resources.
• Stay updated with geotechnical software and methods.
• Ensure compliance with codes and standards.
