Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons for Foundation Phase learners (Grades R-2).
• Develop and implement age-appropriate teaching strategies aligned with the CAPS curriculum.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and participation.
• Assess student progress through various methods, providing constructive feedback and reporting to parents.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting a respectful and cooperative learning atmosphere.
• Identify individual student needs and provide differentiated instruction and support.
• Organize and supervise educational activities, including excursions and special events.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the school administration to support student development.

Requirements

• A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed. or PGCE) with a specialization in Foundation Phase.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

• Thorough knowledge of the South African national curriculum (CAPS).
