Placements24 is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician for Vereeniging, Gauteng. You will install, service, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment at client sites, with frequent travel.

Requirements: trade qualification and at least 5 years in field service, strong diagnostic skills, and clear communication. You will generate service reports, train customers, and ensure safe, optimal operation.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualification or equivalent certification.
• Five+ years of field service or technical support experience with complex machinery.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics and blueprints.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and service a wide range of industrial machinery at client sites.
• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
• Conduct customer training on equipment operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Maintain detailed service reports, including work performed, parts used, and customer feedback.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company guidelines during site visits.
• Manage service vehicle inventory and ensure it is well-stocked with parts and tools.
• Liaise with engineering and sales to resolve challenges and identify upsell opportunities.
