Placements24 is seeking a Field Service Engineer to be based in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will install, maintain and repair specialized industrial equipment at client sites, acting as the primary technical contact to ensure peak performance.

Travel within Gauteng, strong mechanical/electrical aptitude, and problem-solving focus are essential. You will work with clients to understand needs, provide timely solutions, train client staff, and document service reports.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Field Service Engineer or similar technical service role.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with equipment type is essential.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel within Gauteng region.

Responsabilités

• Perform on-site installation, calibration, and commissioning of new equipment.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and servicing to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software issues on-site.
• Provide technical support and training to client personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Respond to emergency service calls and ensure rapid resolution of critical issues.
• Maintain accurate service reports, logs, and inventory of spare parts.
• Liaise with engineering and customer support teams to address complex challenges.

• Experience with (Specific Equipment Type - e.g., HVAC systems, Manufacturing machinery) is essential.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the Gauteng region.
• Technical qualification (e.g., NTC, City & Guilds) in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa .
