Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Field Operations Engineer to lead day-to-day upstream production activities in the Northern Cape. You will drive optimization, oversee field teams, and ensure safe, compliant operations across multiple assets.

You will collaborate with drilling, reservoir, and maintenance teams to plan and execute integrated field operations, leveraging strong technical foundations in petroleum or mechanical engineering and extensive hands-on field experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in upstream oil and gas field operations.
• Proven experience in production operations management and optimization.
• Strong understanding of well operations, artificial lift, and production equipment.
• Excellent knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily field production operations.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Lead and mentor field operations teams, fostering a strong safety culture.
• Develop and implement production optimization strategies.
• Monitor well performance and identify opportunities for enhancement.
• Manage artificial lift systems and production equipment.
• Coordinate with drilling, completion, and maintenance teams.
• Conduct field reviews, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Prepare operational reports and performance analysis.
• Ensure effective execution of workover and intervention programs.
