Placements24 is seeking a Senior Employment Law Specialist to provide expert guidance on all facets of SA employment law on a fully remote basis. You will advise on complex disputes, draft contracts and policies, and help ensure compliance with the Labour Relations Act and related legislation for diverse clients nationwide.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of post-qualification experience in employment law, strong drafting and advocacy skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote

Qualifications

• Admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• 7+ years post-qualification experience in employment law.
• Experience handling disputes in CCMA, bargaining councils, and Labour Court.
• Deep knowledge of Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and related legislation.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on all aspects of employment law, including hiring, termination, discrimination, and disciplinary processes.
• Draft, review, and update employment contracts, disciplinary codes, and company policies.
• Represent clients in CCMA, bargaining council disputes, arbitrations, and Labour Court litigation.
• Advise on retrenchment, restructuring, and business transfers.
• Conduct employment law training sessions for clients and HR professionals.

• Stay abreast of changes in employment legislation and case law.
• Conduct legal research and provide legal opinions on complex employment-related matters.
• Manage a caseload of client matters effectively in a remote setting.

Requirements

• Admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• A minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience specifically in employment law.
• Proven experience in handling complex employment disputes and litigation in the CCMA, bargaining councils, and Labour Court.
• In-depth knowledge of the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and other relevant employment legislation.
• Excellent drafting, advisory, and advocacy skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and deliver results in a remote work environment.
• Strong client management and communication skills.
• Experience providing advice to diverse industries is an advantage.
