Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to provide expert advice on all aspects of South African employment law in a fully remote role. You will partner with HR and leadership to ensure compliant practices, policies, and dispute resolution across the organization.

The ideal candidate has admitted status and at least five years of dedicated employment-law experience, strong drafting skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with at least 5 years of employment law experience.
• In-depth knowledge of South African employment legislation and case law.
• Experience advising on complex employee relations matters and dispute resolution.
• Strong drafting skills for contracts, policies, and legal documents.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence stakeholders.
• Proficiency in remote work tools and self-management.

Responsibilities

• Advise management on compliance with the Labour Relations Act, BCEA, EEA, and other employment legislation.
• Draft, review, and update employment contracts, policies, and procedures.
• Represent the company in disciplinary hearings, CCMA arbitrations, and disputes.
• Provide guidance on recruitment, performance management, and termination processes.
• Conduct internal investigations into grievances and misconduct.
• Develop and deliver training programs on employment law and HR practices.
