Placements24 is seeking an Employment Law Specialist to provide expert guidance on SA employment law from a fully remote setup. You will ensure compliance with key acts, draft and review contracts and policies, and advise on disciplinary matters and disputes across the country.

Requirements include admission as an attorney with at least 5 years in employment law, strong drafting and communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Employment Law Specialist to provide expert advice and support on all matters related to South African employment law. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute to the company's success from anywhere in the country. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and other relevant legislation, advising on employment contracts, disciplinary processes, and dispute resolution. This role is vital in fostering a fair and productive work environment and mitigating employment-related risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on all aspects of employment law , including recruitment, hiring, termination, and performance management.
• Draft, review, and update employment contracts, policies, and procedures.
• Advise on and manage disciplinary inquiries , grievance procedures, and CCMA/Bargaining Council disputes.
• Conduct legal training for HR and management teams on employment law compliance.
• Stay abreast of changes in employment legislation and provide proactive guidance.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court with at least 5 years of experience specifically in Employment Law .
• Deep understanding of South African labour legislation and case law.
• Proven experience in advising on and resolving employment disputes.
• Excellent drafting and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively in a remote setting.
