Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Employment Lawyer to bolster its legal team. This fully remote role focuses on advising on all facets of South African employment law, ensuring compliance with BCEA, LRA, EEA, and related regulations for a distributed workforce, including Durban.

Admitted Attorneys with 6+ years of dedicated SA employment law experience will provide guidance on contracts, disputes, policies, investigations, and training, shaping best practices while enjoying

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on all employment-related matters, including hiring, terminations, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
• Draft, review, and update employment contracts, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Represent the company in labour disputes at CCMA and Bargaining Councils.
• Conduct internal investigations into employee misconduct and advise on remedial actions.
• Develop and deliver training on employment law and compliance for managers and employees.
• Stay updated on labour legislation and advise on impacts to the business.

About the Role

Our client is actively searching for a highly skilled Remote Employment Lawyer to bolster their legal team. Operating entirely remotely, this position will focus on advising the organization on all facets of employment law, ensuring compliance with South African labour legislation and best practices. The successful candidate will provide critical guidance on employment contracts, disputes, policies, and regulatory matters, contributing to a fair and legally compliant workplace culture. This role offers the unique advantage of working from anywhere, providing expert legal counsel to our client's distributed workforce while maintaining a strong connection to the company's operational hubs, including areas like Durban .

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on all employment-related matters, including hiring, terminations, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
• Draft, review, and update employment contracts, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with BCEA, LRA, EEA, and other relevant legislation.
• Represent the company in labour disputes, arbitrations, and conciliations at the CCMA and Bargaining Councils.
• Conduct internal investigations into employee misconduct and advise on appropriate remedial actions.
• Develop and deliver training programs on employment law and compliance for managers and employees.
• Stay abreast of changes in labour legislation and advise on potential impacts on the business.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 6 years of dedicated experience in South African employment law.
• Proven experience in advising on complex labour disputes and conducting workplace investigations.
• In-depth knowledge of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, and Employment Equity Act.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage a caseload remotely and meet deadlines effectively.
